What has actually been demonstrated?
CR1 is a way to establish whether a legacy-software recovery project has progressed from plausible analysis to a bounded, testable modern implementation.

Old software can be studied for years without answering the practical question: can its important behaviour be reconstructed reliably enough to run and evaluate on a modern platform? CR1 is designed to answer part of that question with a declared scope, recorded evidence and repeatable checks.
The work begins from observed and classified evidence. The result is assessed against that evidence, not against a visual impression or an assumption that every unexplained behaviour has been solved.
