DESCRIPTION : Putting the art back into Level Design, welcome to Workbench part 1, where Blue is going to show you how to create your empty basic FPS level for running around and shooting your default UE4 Gun.  The game at this point is a singleplayer experience with no real detail in the level or gameplay mechanics.


The overall level is a rectangular shape of enclosed corridors, you will be using the Unreal Engine 4 free demonstration for the sequencer from the learning tab to obtain all your standard assets that you will need – all assets for the Workbench series are free ones that you can obtain completely legally and reuse via the Epic Games Launcher / Unreal Engine site.


To be able to complete this set you will ideally need a fairly good gaming computer – plenty of memory and having a SSD will definately help.  There is nothing stopping you getting dug in and having a play in Unreal Engine 4 – you will have yourself a level completed before you know it!


The only limit is your imagination when it comes to developing amazing levels so please do share your work as it goes along on our facebook group or page!  We would love to see your progress and are there to give you encouragement if you need it!
